About
As an 'amature' whisky drinker I'm always looking for new things to try and a way to remember what I liked. What's more I keep finding that what I like changes as I make my way through bottles. Much of that is of course down to my mood or taste buds on a given day, but it's also party to do with how a whisky changes as it's exposed to the air, light etc.
These effects mean that what might be great when first opened, may not seem as good by the time it's done. Or the other way around.
Whisky reviews on the other hand seem to be about people's first impressions. That initial view on the first try that doesn't reflect the different things you can find in there as you return to a bottle over weeks and months.
I wanted more than that from reviews, so I thought why not create a place where I can record such things for future reference? So that's what I want to do here.
For every whisky I'm going to give my first impressions at the 'Neck Pour'. Then when I've worked my way down into 'The Body' of the whisky to talk about the new things I find. Then finally some 'Final Thoughts' on those last drams before it's all gone for good.

Cheers!
